NURSES REGISTRATION ORDINANCE - minor amendment

CHAPTER 164

NURSES REGISTRATION

1. The Nurses Registration Ordinance is amended-

(1)in section 2, in the definition of 'Director', by repealing
'Medical and Health' and substituting 'Hospital Services';

(2)in section 3(2)(b), by repealing 'Medical and Health Services'
and substituting 'Health'.

2. The Nurses (Registration and Disciplinary Procedure) Regula-
tions are amended-

(1)by repealing 'the Colony' wherever it occurs in regulations 4
and 9 and substituting 'Hong Kong';

(2)in regulation 11 by repealing 'unless he possesses a Hong Kong
School Certificate or equivalent academic qualifications with
grades or credits in such subjects as the Board may, from time
to time, specify.' and substituting---
unless-
(a)he possesses a Hong Kong School Certificate or
equivalent academic qualifications with grades or
credits in such subjects as the Board may, from
time to time, specify; or
(b)he satisfies the Board that by reason of his
training, professional experience, knowledge or
skill he is a suitable person to commence a course
of training under these regulations.

(3)in regulation 12(b) by repealing 'assistant' from paragraph (ii)
of the proviso and substituting 'enrolled';

(4)in regulations 15(1)(b)(iv), (4), (6)(d) and (8) and 31(a) by
repealing 'Director' wherever it occurs and substituting
'chairman';

(5) by repealing the Second Schedule and substituting-

3. The Enrolled Assistant Nurses (Enrolment and Disciplinary
Procedure) Regulations are amended-

(1) in regulation 1 by repealing 'Assistant';

(2)by repealing 'assistant' wherever it occurs before 'nurse' or
'nurses';

(3)by repealing 'the Colony' wherever it occurs in regulations 4
and 9 and substituting 'Hong Kong';

(4) by repealing regulation 11 and substituting-

11. No person shall be eligible to commence any
course of training under these regulations unless he has
attained such educational qualifications as the Board may,
from time to time, specify.

(5)in regulations 15(1)(b)(iv), (4), (6)(d) and (8) and 31(a) by
repealing 'Director' wherever it occurs and substituting
'chairman';

(6) by repealing the Second Schedule and substituting-
