IMMIGRATION ORDINANCE - minor amendment

CHAPTER 115

IMMIGRATION

1. The Immigration Regulations are amended-

(1) in regulations 5, 6, 7 and 7A by adding 'or a chief immigration
assistant' after 'immigration officer' wherever it appears;

(2) in the Second Schedule-

(a) in item 17, by adding 'valid for one entry' after 'Entry
permit,' ;
(b) by adding after item 17-
17A. Entry permit valid for two entries (L.N. 24
of 1988) .........................230.00

2. The Immigration (Vietnamese Refugee Centres) (Open Centre)
Rules are amended in the Schedule by repealing item 1 and
substituting-

1. Pillar Point Vietnamese Refugee Centre. (L.N. 257 of 1989)

3. The Immigration (Vietnamese Refugee Centres) (Departure
Centre) Rules are amended in the Schedule-

(a)by repealing 'Areas A and B of the Argyle Street Army
Camp 3.' ;

(b) by repealing 'Ma Tau Wai Detention Centre.';

(c)by adding 'Kai Tak Vietnamese Boat People Departure
Centre. (L.N. 248of 1988)'.

4. The Immigration (Vietnamese Refugee Centres) (Closed
Centre) Rules are amended-

(1) in rule 3, in the definition of 'Medical Officer', by repealing
'Medical and Health Services' and substituting 'Health';

(2)in rule 21 by repealing 'Medical and Health Services' and
substituting 'Health';

(3) in rule 38 by repealing '$1,000' and substituting '$5,000';

(4) in rule 39 by repealing '$1,000' and substituting '$5,000';

(5) in rule 40 by adding 'a fine of $5,000 and to' after 'liable to';

(6) in rule 41 by repealing '$1,000' and substituting '55,000';

(7) in the Schedule by repealing 'Sham Shui Po Closed Centre'.
