COMPULSORY SERVICE ORDINANCE - minor amendment

CHAPTER 246

COMPULSORY SERVICE

The Compulsory Service Ordinance is amended-

(1)in the long title to the Ordinance, by repealing 'citizens of the
United Kingdom and Colonies' and substituting-

British citizens, British Dependent Territories citizens or
British Overseas citizens

(2)in section 4, by repealing 'citizens of the United Kingdom and
Colonies' and substituting-

British citizens, British Dependent Territories citizens or
British Overseas citizens

(3)in section 8(3) by repealing 'Medical and Health Services' and
substituting 'Health'

(4) in section 13-

(a)in subsection (1)(a) by repealing 'conferred upon the
Supreme Court by sections 31 and 32 of the Supreme
Court Ordinance' and substituting-

possessed by the Supreme Court in respect of the
punishment of witnesses for non-attendance and
persons guilty of contempt of court

(b)in subsection 1(b) by repealing 'Medical and Health
Services' and substituting 'Health';

(c)by repealing the proviso to subsection (2) and
substituting-

Provided that an appeal shall lie to the Court of
Appeal in respect of any exercise by the Compulsory
Service Tribunal of any of the powers of punishment
conferred by subsection (1)(a).

(5)in section 18, by repealing 'citizens of the United Kingdom and
Colonies' and substituting-

British citizens, British Dependent Territories citizens or
British Overseas citizens

(6)in section 19(1) by repealing 'Medical and Health Services'
and substituting 'Health';





(7)in section 22(1), by repealing 'citizen of the United Kingdom
and Colonies' and substituting-

British citizen, British Dependent Territories citizen or
British Overseas citizen
