SOCIETIES ORDINANCE - minor amendment

CHAPTER 151

SOCIETIES

1. The Societies Ordinance is amended by repealing 'Secretary for
District Administration' and substituting 'Secretary for Home
Affairs' wherever it occurs.

2. The Societies Rules are amended-

(1) in rule 3 by adding after paragraph (2)-

(3) Where a certificate issued under paragraph (1)(a) or
(b) is lost, defaced or destroyed, the Registrar may, on payment
of a fee of $65, issue a duplicate certificate to the society
concerned. (L.N. 238 of 1988)

(2) by repealing rule 6 and substituting-

6. (1) Any person who wishes to inspect an entry in the
register of registered societies or the register of exempted
societies shall complete a request in accordance with Form 9 in
the Schedule.

(2) The Registrar may decline to accept from the same
person requests to inspect on the same day more than 5 entries
in either the register of registered societies or the register of
exempted societies.
