INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS AND DIPLOMATIC PRIVILEGES ORDINANCE - minor amendment

CHAPTER 190

INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS AND
DIPLOMATIC PRIVILEGES

1. The International Organizations and Diplomatic Privileges
Ordinance is amended-

(1)in section 7(1) and (2) by repealing 'section 1(3) of the British
Nationality Act 1948' and substituting 'Schedule 3 to the
British Nationality Act 1981 ';

(2)in Part I of the First Schedule, in paragraph 4, by repealing
'Director of Trade, Industry and Customs' and substituting
'Commissioner of Customs and Excise';

(3)in Part I of the Second Schedule by repealing 'citizen only of
the United Kingdom and Colonies' and substituting-

British citizen, a British Dependent Territories citizen, or a
British Overseas citizen, possessing no other citizenship or
nationality

2. The Food and Agriculture Organization is amended-

(1)in article 5, by repealing 'Director of Trade, Industry and
Customs' and substituting 'Commissioner of Customs and

(2) in article 8-

(a)in paragraph (1)(c) by repealing 'British subjects' and
substituting-

British citizens, British Dependent Territories citizens
or British Overseas citizens

(b)in paragraph (3) by repealing 'British subject' and sub-
stituting-

British citizen, a British Dependent Territories citizen
or a British Overseas citizen

3. The Inter-Governmental Maritime Consultative Organization
is amended-

(1)in article 5 by repealing 'Director of Trade, Industry and
Customs' and substituting 'Commissioner of Customs and
Excise' ;

(2)in article 8(4) by repealing 'citizen of the United Kingdom and
Colonies' and substituting 'British citizen, a British Dependent
Territories citizen or a British Overseas citizen';





(3)in the proviso to article 9 by repealing 'citizen of the United
Kingdom and Colonies' and substituting 'British citizen, a
British Dependent Territories citizen or a British Overseas
citizen'.

4. The International Atomic Energy Agency is amended-

(1)in article 5 by repealing 'Director of Trade, Industry and
Customs' and substituting 'Commissioner of Customs and
Excise';

(2)in article 8(4) by repealing 'citizen of the United Kingdom and
Colonies' and substituting 'British citizen, a British Dependent
Territories citizen or a British Overseas citizen';

(3)in the proviso to article 9 by repealing 'citizen of the United
Kingdom and Colonies' and substituting 'British citizen, a
British Dependent Territories citizen or a British Overseas
citizen';

(4)in the proviso to article 11(1)(c) by repealing 'citizen of the
United Kingdom and Colonies' and substituting 'British
citizen, a British Dependent Territories citizen or a British
Overseas citizen'.

5. The International Civil Aviation Organization is amended-

(1)in article 5 by repealing 'Director of Trade, Industry and
Customs' and substituting 'Commissioner of Customs and
Excise';

(2) in article 8-

(a)in paragraph (1)(c) by repealing 'British subjects' and
substituting 'British citizens, British Dependent
Territories citizens or British Overseas citizens';

(b)in paragraph (3) by repealing 'British subject' and
substituting 'British citizen, a British Dependent
Territories citizen or a British Overseas citizen'.

6. The International Labour Organization is amended-

(1)in article 5 by repealing 'Director of Trade, Industry and
Customs' and substituting 'Commissioner of Customs and
Excise';

(2) in article 8-

(a)in paragraph (1)(c) by repealing 'British subjects' and
substituting 'British citizens, British Dependent
Territories citizens or British Overseas citizens';





(b)in paragraph (3) by repealing 'British subject' and
substituting 'British citizen, a British Dependent
Territories citizen or a British Overseas citizen'.

7. The International Telecommunication Union is amended-

(1)in article 5 by repealing 'Director of Trade, Industry and
Customs' and substituting 'Commissioner of Customs and
Excise';

(2)in article 8(4) by repealing 'citizen of the United Kingdom and
Colonies' and substituting 'British citizen, a British Dependent
Territories citizen or a British Overseas citizen'.

8. The United Nations are amended-

(1)in article 5 by repealing 'Director of Trade, Industry and
Customs' and substituting 'Commissioner of Customs and
Excise';

(2)in article 8(c) by repealing 'British subjects' and substituting
'British citizens, British Dependent Territories citizens or
British Overseas citizens';

(3)in article 13 by repealing 'British subjects' and substituting
'British citizens, British Dependent Territories citizens or
British Overseas citizens';

(4) in article 15-

(a)in paragraph (c) by repealing 'British subjects' and
substituting 'British citizens, British Dependent
Territories citizens or British Overseas citizens';

(b)by repealing 'British subject' and substituting 'British
citizen, British Dependent Territories citizen or British
Overseas citizen'.

9. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural
Organization is amended-

(1)in article 5 by repealing 'Director of Trade, Industry and
Customs- and substituting 'Commissioner of Customs and
Excise';

(2) in article 8-

(a)in paragraph (1)(c) by repealing 'British subjects' and
substituting 'British citizens, British Dependent
Territories citizens or British Overseas citizens';

(b)in paragraph (3) by repealing 'British subject' and
substituting 'British citizen, a British Dependent
Territories citizen or a British Overseas citizen'.





10. The Universal Postal Union is amended-

(1) in article 5 by repealing 'Director of Trade, Industry and
Customs' and substituting 'Commissioner of Customs and
Excise';

(2) in article 8(4) by repealing 'citizen of the United Kingdom and
Colonies' and substituting 'British citizen, a British Dependent
Territories citizen or a British Overseas citizen'.

11. The World Health Organization is amended in article 8-

(1) in article 5 by repealing 'Director of Trade, Industry and
Custorns' and substituting 'Commissioner of Customs and
Excise';

(2) in article 8-

(a)in paragraph (1)(c) by repealing 'British subjects' and
substituting 'British citizens, British Dependent
Territories citizens or British Overseas citizens';

(b)in paragraph (3) by repealing 'British subject' and
substituting 'British citizen, a British Dependent
Territories citizen or a British Overseas citizen'.

12. The World Meteorological Organization is amended-

(1) in article 5 by repealing 'Director of Trade, Industry and
Custorns' and substituting 'Commissioner of Customs and
Excise';

(2) in article 8(4) by repealing 'citizen of the United Kingdom and
Colonies' and substituting 'British citizen, a British Dependent
Territories citizen or a British Overseas citizen'.

13. The Asian Development Bank is amended in article 6 by
repealing 'Director of Trade, Industry and Customs' and
substituting 'Commissioner of Customs and Excise'.

14. The Asia-Pacific Telecommunity Notification is amended-

(1) in article 8 by repealing 'Director of Trade, Industry and
Custorns' and substituting 'Commissioner of Customs and
Excise';

(2) in article 11(4) by repealing 'citizen of the United Kingdom
and Colonies' and substituting 'British citizen, a British
Dependent Territories citizen or a British Overseas citizen'.
